If you're having trouble maintaining video and audio connection on your computer or laptop, please try to plug directly into your modem. To do this, you will need an ethernet cable and access to your modem. Modems are usually connected on a wall with "phone jack-looking" outlets - they look like this:
Modems are usually black or white boxes with lights along one side - they look something like these:
On the opposite side from the lights, you can usually find the Ethernet port. Here's what the port and cable look like:
Plug one end of the ethernet cable directly into the ethernet port on your internet device. Plug the other one into the port on your device. If you don't have a port on your device, you can also purchase ethernet dongles or adapters!
Your device will automatically connect to the internet once you've plugged it in. You can then turn off your WiFi and rely on the cable instead.
When you connect wirelessly, your connection can suffer what's called "packet loss," or little bits of your data getting lost during transmission. This might manifest as getting disconnected, stuttering video, or interrupted audio. Wired connections help prevent packet loss.
